After completing a certification in Sports Management and Exercise prescription at the New Zealand Institute of Sport, Melody then went on to complete a Bachelor of Arts degree at Canterbury University in Sociology before undertaking her degree in Natural Medicine at the South Pacific College of Natural Medicine. Deciding to travel for a few years Melody took off to the United kingdom and Europe to explore and discover new cultures and people. Upon living abroad Melody gained her yoga teacher training qualification in London 2014 and then in Italy 2016, adding this string to her bow. Melody brings a fresh approach to Naturopathy here at the Apothecary combining the best of her exercise and yoga skills with her herbal and nutritional knowledge and is able to advise and prescribe herbal, nutritional as well as exercise recommendations to her patients.
Background: With a background in exercise and sports, Melody includes nutrition, activity/exercise and lifestyle adjustments into her treatment plans as well as herbal medicine, believing that all of the systems in the body are inter-connected and that there is the element of mind and body to consider when looking at illness and disease.

With the balancing of food, exercise and herbal medicine Melody looks at situations practically, and she helps patients look at their lives in a holistic manner. This is something that Melody is reminded of each day in her yoga practice also. Melody finds that people respond well to her friendly approach.
