The Stress
Programme

The Stress Programme is a comprehensive, holistic look at your health which addresses your stress levels, gut health, liver function, immunity, adrenal condition and cardiovascular health – the underlying causes of biological dysfunction. These are all the result of different types of stress.

The programme is suited to anyone who is stressed, burnt out, has digestive problems, hormonal issues, sleep problems, anxiety, mood disorders, cardiovascular disorders, pain and inflammation, autoimmune disorders, eczema, allergies, low immunity, recurrent infections, overweight, skin conditions, brain function and some lung problems.

The Stress Programme is a 5 phase programme aimed to restore depleted individuals, look at health preventatively and address prevention from a holistic perspective. We do this by addressing the diet, stress levels, gut health and cardiovascular health. We aim to prevent your future self from experiencing the major pitfalls of health which come about due to high stress levels, burn out, western diet, and leaky gut syndrome.

The Stress Programme Detail

We do this through 5 appointments over a 4 month period with a tailor made programme designed to suit your needs and specific symptoms.

This is the forefront of naturopathic knowledge and healing which includes using herbal medicine, diet changes and evidence based lifestyle factors which are known to influence health and emotional wellbeing. Prevention is our ultimate aim.

Participating in The Stress Programme means we can follow through on what we start and rather than treating the symptoms alone, start to look at the underlying factors.

Finishing all of the stages takes approximately 4 months, up to 6 for some people. If you find at any stage you feel you want to pause treatment that is fine, we can pick it back up at any time. Treating symptoms is important, if you are busy, treating the root causes can come later.

How to do this programme with medication – talk to your practitioner about the medication you are on and get advice about it. We will tailor make a herbal solution around your medication regime. Often, healing the gut, taking vitamins and minerals, changing the diet and improving sleep will improve other symptoms. You may be able to reduce some non-essential medications after completing the programme. We will remind you to talk with your doctor when you get to that stage. Generally medication should be taken about an hour after any herbal and fibre containing products. We will safely assess suitability for any medication such as blood thinners and heart medications.

To begin the Stress Programme fill out our online health questionnaire with details about your stress levels, digestion, sleep, anxiety, mood issues, hormonal symptoms, cardiovascular risk factors, energy levels, medications, recent blood tests, the 1 thing that happens to you when you gets stressed, state your health goals and commitment level, and book in and get started. We are here to help. There is no better time than now

The Bottom Line

The bottom line is that stress is not worth it. We can beat stress, we can reduce it, we can use it to our advantage, we can rest, and we can recover. Resting, relaxing and reducing nervous tension is the first step to addressing stress in your life. From there we can heal and recuperate with key herbal medicines, nutrients and lifestyle choices before it is too late.

We use the 6 Naturopathic Principles of Health which are:

  1. First Do No Harm – Naturopathic medicine follows three principles to avoid harming the patient: Use methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects; Avoid, when possible, the harmful suppression of symptoms; Acknowledge and respect the individual’s healing process, using the least force necessary to diagnose and treat illness
  2. The Healing Power of Nature – Naturopathic medicine recognizes the body’s inherent ability to heal and regain balance {homeostasis}. Naturopathic practitioners help identify and treat underlying causes which act to facilitate recovery.
  3. Identify and Treat the Causes – The naturopathic practitioner seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness, rather than eliminate or merely suppress symptoms.
  4.  Doctor as Teacher – Naturopathic practitioners educate the patient and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also acknowledge the therapeutic value inherent in the practitioner-patient relationship.
  5. Treat the Whole Person – Naturopathic practitioners treat each individual by taking into account physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, spiritual and social factors. Naturopathic practitioners encourage individuals to pursue their personal healing path.
  6. Prevention – Naturopathic practitioners emphasise disease prevention, assessment of risk factors and hereditary susceptibility to disease by making appropriate recommendations to prevent illness. Naturopathic medicine strives to create a healthy world in which humanity works with nature and not against it.
