$12.00 – $30.00
Chaste tree berry is an extremely unique herb with the ability to influence the hypothalamic/pituitary function in relation to the female and male reproductive hormones. The herb has a long traditional usage with ancient Greeks and Monasteries employed the herb for male and female complaints.
Today we know through studies that its mechanisms affect the Dopamine receptors in the anterior pituitary, as well as other receptor sites. (1)
Clinically Vitex has been shown to reduce moderate to severe PMS, Mastalgia (breast pain), it can normalise the luteal phase and increase progesterone production, help with infertility, luteal insufficiency, decrease prolactin levels and reduce acne and pre-menstrual fluid retention.
A 2013 review suggested that “the results from randomised, controlled trials to date suggest benefits for Vitex extracts in the treatment of premenstrual syndrome, premenstrual dysphoric disorder and latent hyperprolactinaemia.” (2)
Vitex must be taken daily for at least 3 months and up to 6 months for its full effect.
