Elecampane root | Inula helenium | Organic
$12.00 – $30.00
Elecampane root is a well used, traditional herbal remedy for all types of cough and lung dysfunction. It has a unique perfume like taste due to the volatile oil component.
The sesquiterpene lactones appear to have antibacterial activity towards Mycobacterium tuberculosis and M diphtheriae. It is also anthelmintic against roundworm.
However most of its use is in the respiratory tract against cough, bronchitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, bronchial catarrh including asthma.
The inulin content is extracted well in tincture and vinegar and it is used in our Prebiotic vinegar. Inulin is known to feed our good gut bacteria. Inulin content ranges between 22-40% depending on harvest time.
