$4.50$21.00

Houjicha green tea has a lovely seaweed taste, not bitter at all. Houjicha is a region in Japan where they roasted their green tea leaves in a different way to the traditional steaming that has spread around Asia since. Green tea leaves are grown in the sun and picked early. This gives it a unique flavour and health benefits.

Tea has a long history of use dating back over 5000 years and been used medicinally in many Asian countries. It has now been verified by research that the antioxidants in Green tea confer health benefits to the cardiovascular system, brain, digestion and metabolic system. If we look at the number of phytochemical constituents we can see why. Green tea, which is the unoxidised leaf of Camellia sinensis, contains nearly 4000 bioactive compounds, with the health promoting effects largely attributed to the catechins, together with the flavonols which make up approximately 30-40% of green tea fresh leaf dry weight.

These effects have been shown to improve cognition, reduce cardiovascular disease, prevent certain cancers and a reduce the risk of obesity in daily users. (1) (2) (3) (4)
