Integrative Oncology Clinic

Integrative Oncology is a field determined to support those with a cancer diagnosis holistically throughout their treatment. This means we support those who are doing oncology treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation and surgery from medical providers in order to improve outcomes and reduce side-effects from treatment.

Integrative oncology is therefore based on assessment of your family and medical history, current knowledge of your type of cancer and its treatment, and includes a written, evolving, evidence based plan based around your treatment needs and particular side-effects, to improve your quality of life throughout your oncology treatments.

Please note we do not treat your cancer we are a holistic and supportive integrated treatment provider supporting people who are getting oncology treatment. Chemotherapy and radiation side-effects may cause lowered immunity, gut problems and fatigue. The good news is that these can be modified with herbal and nutritional treatments. We give you a thorough explanation of your herbal and nutritional recommendations, a basic dietary plan based on your needs and provide communication for your oncologist.

Our Integrative Oncology Clinic is designed to help with the following:

• Infection management throughout treatment
• Full holistic support
• Nutritional counselling and dietary advice

We do this with evidence based solutions and with full and open communication with your oncology team.

In your appointment we go over your symptoms and diagnosis. We start to develop your plan and make recommendations based on the latest evidence. We initiate communication with your oncology team and start the process of working together to improve your health outcomes.

An Integrative Oncology Clinic consists of the following appointments:

• 1 hour appointment ~ We go over your diagnosis and treatment, develop you a plan and advise on diet and herbal remedies that can help your treatment
• 45 minute follow up ~ We continue with counselling and upgrade the plan based on your treatment & side-effects
• 30 minute follow up ~ We continue counselling and further update your plan as needed
• 30 minute follow up ~ Once your main treatments are over we develop you a longer term plan and continue to support your recovery

Further ongoing follow ups can be booked depending on the length of your treatment. All appointments involve full communication with your oncology team and regular contact in between appointments.
