Ingredients | Kava root powder (Fijian grown) |
Instructions | Pour 2 tablespoons of Kava powder into a small muslin cloth bag and immerse into 1 litre of cold water. Squeeze it hard to release the Kava liquid. The harder the root stock fibre is squeezed, the more kava lactones will be expressed. Do this about 20-35 times and then thoroughly squeeze out and remove the bag. The water will take on a granular, brownish effect as the kava lactones disperse into it. Drink 1 cup. Kava is best consumed on an empty stomach so that all of the kava lactones can be readily absorbed by the body. Do not drive afterwards. Kava numbs the mouth and tongue which is a normal sedative effect. This passes in about 5 minutes. Place the rest in the fridge and consume over the next few days. |
