Laxative Tea

$12.50$25.00

Laxative tea is for those times when we need to use a laxative to stimulate and clear the bowel. Senna tea will soften the stools and loosen hard dry stools. In most cases 20 grams will be plenty to solve the problem but if constipation can be an issue from time to time you may like to have it on hand and order 30 grams. If constipation is an ongoing issue this tea is not the solution! A complex plan to help rectify the situation is needed so please book in for a consultation if this is the case

The long term use of Senna has been associated with liver damage and as such we cannot sell Senna leaf containing products in large quantities. Relying on Senna to move the bowel means constipation is a chronic issue that needs to be treated in a number of different ways including with the use of soluble fibre such as Psyllium hulls or Slippery elm powder and an increase in water alongside this, as well as functional movements to help stimulate the bowel. Other laxatives can be used in the longer term such as Dandelion root, Yellow dock root and Cascara bark. Please phone us to make an order of a tea with a combination of the above herbs or book in for a consultation with one of our qualified medical herbalists to help solve chronic constipation.

This tea contains: Senna leaf, Fennel seed, Liquorice.

All of our herbal tea blends are created by us and are made from quality local {where possible} and imported herbs from mainly organic herb farms. Quality dried herbs should look and smell fresh and will give a longer infusion time. To learn how to make herbal teas in your own home check out our courses on tea making.
