Motherwort leaf | Leonurus cardiaca | Organic

$8.00$30.00

Motherwort is a prized cardiac remedy for Medical Herbalists. The cardiac glycosides, alkaloids and flavonoid combination gives it several unique and effective uses within the cardiac system. Largely palpitations, high blood pressure and stress induced hypertension.

Motherwort’s antispasmodic effects extent to the reproductive system where smooth muscle of the uterus can be relaxed, making it helpful for menstrual pains. Verbascoside & lavandulifolioside appear to have hypotensive effects, lowering the blood pressure. Leonurine is the most likely a vasorelaxant.

Motherwort is found in our Dr feelgood tea as well as our cardiac tonic Under Pressure.

All of our teas are organic or wild harvested from natural surroundings. Enjoy!
